Cardiothoracic Surgeon Matthew Richey, MD, Joins The Chattanooga Heart Institute

CHI Memorial Hospital Georgia recently issued the following announcement.

Cardiothoracic surgeon Matthew Richey, MD, has joined The Chattanooga Heart Institute.  Dr. Richey earned his medical degree from Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska.  He completed a general surgery residency at the University of Kansas in Kansas City and a cardiothoracic surgery fellowship from the University of Nebraska Medical Center, also in Omaha.  He specializes in all aspects of cardiac surgery. 

At The Chattanooga Heart Institute, Dr. Richey joins cardiothoracic surgeons Alan Simeone, MD, and James Zellner, MD, along with 27 cardiologists and three vascular surgeons. This team of experts is the region’s heart and vascular leader – providing compassionate care while effectively treating heart disease, no matter how complex. The Chattanooga Heart Institute’s board‐certified cardiologists—including specialists in interventional procedures, electrophysiology, imaging and vascular disease—exceed national standards for education, training, and skill.
