CHI Memorial Medical Group is pleased to announce that Ranjith Babu, MD, fellowship-trained neurosurgeon, has joined CHI Memorial Stroke and Neuroscience Center. In his role, Dr. Babu will provide highly skilled care in the treatment of brain tumors, stroke, and other conditions of the brain and spine.
Dr. Babu earned his medical degree from Duke University School of Medicine in Durham, NC, where he also completed his internship and neurosurgical residency. Dr. Babu then completed a fellowship in Biodesign from Stanford University in Palo Alto, CA. He is a member of the Congress of Neurological Surgeons and the American Association of Neurological Surgeons.
Dr. Babu’s focus will be to develop a comprehensive brain tumor program, treating patients with brain and spinal tumors, and other spinal pathologies. This includes primary and secondary brain tumors, brain aneurysms, degenerative spine conditions, peripheral nerve conditions, trauma and infections of the brain and spine. In addition to open surgery, Dr. Babu uses minimally invasive techniques to treat complex and often life-threatening health conditions. He will also support the stroke team’s neurointerventionalists and provide appropriate surgical intervention.
