FOIA Request Sent to Murray County Election Department Regarding Ballot Counting Methods on October 29, 2024

A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request was sent to the Murray County Election Department on October 29, 2024. The request, issued by NW Georgia News, a media organization dedicated to comprehensive and accurate news coverage of local governmental affairs, sought specific information about the methods being used to count votes in the upcoming election.

In particular, the request asked for details about whether the vote counting would be done manually or through some other method. If manual counting is being employed, NW Georgia News has also requested an estimate of the number of people who will be working on election night.
