Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene has introduced a resolution to censure Ilhan Omar of Minnesota for her recent statements, which Greene considers to be treasonous. The resolution accuses Omar of violating her oath of allegiance to the United States and condemns her actions as detrimental to national security and contrary to the principles of patriotism.

During an event in Minneapolis on January 27, 2024, Omar openly admitted to advocating for the interests of Somalia over those of the United States. She stated, "The U.S. Government will only do what Somalians in the U.S. tell them to do... Sleep in comfort knowing I am here to protect the interests of Somalia from inside the U.S. system."

Greene argues that Omar's actions directly contradict the oath of allegiance she took when becoming a citizen of the United States. She also highlights the warnings of George Washington against the dangers of "pretended patriotism" and emphasizes the importance of loyalty to the United States above all else.

"Ilhan Omar needs to be censured. I urge my colleagues to vote to censure her, but also urge my colleagues that we need to join together to stop foreign agents serving in our government, in the interests of foreign countries," stated Congresswoman Greene. "We serve the United States of America, and that's it. We serve the American people and no other people. That's how our country needs to get back on track. And that's the only way we'll save our country."

If passed, the resolution calls for the censure of Ilhan Omar and her public appearance in the House of Representatives for the pronouncement of censure. Additionally, the resolution goes further by stripping Omar of her remaining committee assignments, removing her from the Committee on the Budget and the Committee on Education and the Workforce, after being previously removed from the House Foreign Affairs Committee.

Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene is urging all Members of Congress to support this resolution and uphold their oath to protect and defend the United States Constitution.

In conclusion, Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene has introduced a resolution to censure Ilhan Omar for her statements advocating for the interests of Somalia over those of the United States. Greene argues that Omar's actions violate her oath of allegiance and pose a threat to national security. The resolution calls for Omar's censure and the removal of her remaining committee assignments. Congresswoman Greene is urging her colleagues to support the resolution and uphold their oath to protect and defend the United States Constitution.
