Voters in North Georgia, by a 72 to 23 margin - higher than any other part of the state - blamed the Biden administration’s policies, rather than issues in Latin America, for record-high illegal border crossings. This is according to a recent survey released by the League of American Workers (LAW). Of voters who cited immigration as their top issue, 93 percent attributed the blame to the Biden administration.
According to the same survey, voters in South Georgia blamed the Biden administration by a 54 to 39 percent margin. Meanwhile, voters in Central Georgia held the administration accountable by a 51 to 39 percent margin. The poll was conducted by North Star Opinion Research.
In an alarming revelation from U.S. Border Patrol, it has been reported that as many as 10,000 migrants are apprehended daily for illegally crossing the southern border. A CBS News Report highlighted that this record level of "unauthorized" crossings has put significant strain on federal and local resources across the United States.
An NPR report further underscored this crisis, stating that more than 2.4 million migrants entered the United States across its southwest border last year. This represented a staggering 30% increase over the previous record set in 2022.
Due to this escalating situation at the border and allegations of mishandling by the Biden administration, impeachment proceedings have begun against U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. According to Congress.gov, this matter is currently before the House Judiciary Committee.
The LAW was established in 2022 with a mission to conduct research and develop proposals for public policies impacting American workers and their economy, according to its website.
