U.S. Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) has vehemently criticized Colorado judges and Democrats, alleging that they have infringed upon the rights of Colorado voters to support President Trump. This follows a decision by Colorado judges that disqualified President Trump from the state's ballot, prompting Greene's protest against what she views as an infringement on voters' rights.
Greene stated, "The Democrats and 4 Colorado judges just stole the election away from the people of Colorado and robbed them of their right to vote for President Trump." She continued, "This is an unprecedented First Amendment violation that must be struck down by the SCOTUS," adding, "This cannot be allowed to stand."
As reported by AP News, in a divided decision, the Colorado Supreme Court declared former President Donald Trump ineligible for the White House under the U.S. Constitution's insurrection clause. This removed him from the state's presidential primary ballot. The court's application of Section 3 of the 14th Amendment marked an unprecedented disqualification of a presidential candidate, likely setting up a showdown in higher courts. Republican leaders have highlighted that Democratic governors appointed these justices.

In their decision, as reported by AP News, the Colorado court stated: "We do not reach these conclusions lightly," wrote the court’s majority. "We are mindful of the magnitude and weight of the questions now before us. We are likewise mindful of our solemn duty to apply the law, without fear or favor, and without being swayed by public reaction to the decisions that the law mandates we reach."
Fox News reports that the Colorado court has deferred its decision until Jan. 4 or until rulings from U.S. Supreme Court are issued. This is due to pressure from Colorado officials who stress resolving this issue by Jan. 5—the deadline for printing presidential primary ballots. Legal challenges contesting Trump's ballot eligibility are currently pending in 13 states including Texas, Nevada, and Wisconsin.
In a November interview with Piers Morgan, as reported by the Daily Beast, Greene said: "I can tell you right now as a Georgia resident and a member of Congress, in Georgia our secretary of state illegally changed the laws. So did Wisconsin, so did Pennsylvania—to allow our states to be flooded with absentee ballots."
