Covenant Women's Basketball traveled to Decatur, Georgia last night to face the Agnes Scott Scotties.

This marked the third conference game that the Scots have played this season. After holding a 1-1 record in the CCS, the Scots drop to 1-2 after last night's close contest, Covenant falling to the Scotties 70-67.

The Scotties were the first to score, but Covenant was quick to catch up. Although holding on to that lead for the majority of the first quarter, Agnes Scott went on a 7-0 run with less than two minutes remaining in order surpass Covenant. The quarter ended 17-12 in favor of the Scotties.

Carrying that momentum into the second quarter, the Scotties climbed to a 14-point lead, but Covenant continued to fight their way back into the game. Sophomore Breezy Savage sparked a 9-0 Scots' run after hitting a three-pointer with 2:44 left in the first half, earning her way to a career night.

Covenant was only down by four heading into the second half. Despite a 21-point third-quarter performance, the Scots could not overcome the Scotties, entering the final 10 minutes of play still trailing by four.

Though obtaining the lead with 50 seconds on the clock remaining after a Ruthie Moore three-pointer, Agnes Scott took control once again and held the lead for the rest of the contest. Despite fouling efforts to prolong the game to give Covenant one last scoring opportunity, the Scotties held their ground, defeating Covenant Women's Basketball 70-67.

Cosette Kirsch produced a personal season-high of 19 points. Kirsch also racked up five rebounds, four assists, and a steal. Breezy Savage was the second top scorer on the night, notching a career-best 10 points.

Ruthie Moore and Abby Witt, the leading rebounders, both chipped in nine points a-piece. Moore with a team-high of nine rebounds and Witt with seven.
