AAHOA Leadership Meet With Senator John Hickenlooper to Discuss Advocacy

AAHOA Officers and President & CEO Laura Lee Blake were in D.C. on Tuesday, September 27, meeting with Senator John Hickenlooper (D-CO), who sits both on the Small Business Committee and the Senate Commerce Committee. They discussed SBA loan limit increases, promoting fairness and transparency in the franchise industry, and more. This meeting followed close on the heels of AAHOA’s successful Fall National Advocacy Conference and further sheds light on issues that matter most to America’s hotel owners. It’s no secret that small businesses are the backbone of the U.S. economy, and hotels are no exception. AAHOA Member-owned hotels contribute $8.5 billion to Colorado’s GDP and generate more than 100,000 total impact jobs.

When AAHOA Members make their voices heard at events like the Fall National Advocacy Conference, and during meetings with elected officials like Sen. Hickenlooper, they create a path forward for the industry and communities to thrive.

“AAHOA remains committed to strengthening our advocacy efforts at all levels on behalf of our members, and on Tuesday, we truly served as the voice of all hoteliers.” AAHOA President & CEO Laura Lee Blake shared on LinkedIn.

“It [was] great to be back in D.C…as AAHOA continues our mission to advance and protect the business interests of hoteliers. Thank you, Senator John Hickenlooper (D-CO) for meeting with us to discuss our advocacy efforts and ways to further support the needs of our membership.” AAHOA Treasurer Miraj Patel shared on LinkedIn.
