First Day Fulton: Ready, Set, Go!

Firstdayfulton

Alpharetta High School issued the following announcement.

On July 31, Fulton County Schools will host its fifth annual Back-to-School Pep Rally in two locations at North Springs and Banneker High Schools. First Day Fulton is the district's initiative for early registration during the summer.

First Day Fulton helps families get their students ready for school by offering early student registration, school supplies and a chance to learn more about various school departments, available support services and community programs. The event provides students and parents the resources necessary to begin school on the first day of learning.

Parents are encouraged to register their students in order to avoid long lines, or multiple visits to local schools in August to complete registrations. New students, students who have moved, homeless students, and those who are transitioning to the next school level, should be registered prior to the first day of school. Students transitioning to the next grade do not have to register for the event. However, they are welcome to come to the event for free supplies and to take advantage of the community resources.

Parents and guardians can receive free food, prizes, and school supplies as they register new students or students changing schools. Entertainment, community vendors, and fun activities are also included. Parents will be asked to bring the last report card or student identification in order to receive school supplies and be eligible for prize drawings.

CORE/FCBOH (Fulton County Board of Health) will be offering free Covid-19 vaccines at the event. The 2-dose Pfizer vaccine will be available for individuals ages 12 and older. The 1-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine will also be available (for those 18 and older). For those under the age of 18, parental/guardian consent is required and the parent/guardian must be present at vaccination appointment. All Individuals will be given follow-up information about receiving their second dose of the Pfizer vaccine at the event.

The Ronald McDonald Care Mobile®, a mobile clinic of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Hughes Spalding, will offer school-required immunizations for students ages 4 and up. Vaccines will be available to Medicaid-eligible children, or those with no insurance coverage. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian with photo ID.

To enroll in Fulton County Schools, the student's parent or legal guardian must reside within the boundaries of the school system. Click here to check your address. More information about the enrollment process can be found at https://www.fultonschools.org/enrollment.
