Dalton State College employee Heather Hicks donates $160 to Bernard Sanders' campaign

Heather Hicks, an employee at Dalton State College, donated $160 to Democratic Party candidate Bernard Sanders, according to the Federal Election Commission.

According to records, there have been $710 in campaign contributions made by individuals affiliated with Dalton State College as of November 3. Approximately 77.5 percent, or $550, of these contributions were made to Republican Party candidates and committees.

Victor Marshall's contribution of $300 to Republican Party David Perdue was the largest contribution made by someone affiliated with Dalton State College since January 1, 2019.

According to an Inside Higher Ed analysis of federal elections data, individuals that were affiliated with colleges and universities have donated five times more money to Joe Biden than to President Trump. A study by Pew Research in 2017 found that 58 percent of Republicans and Republican-leaning independents thought colleges and universities have a negative impact on the way things are going in this country.
