The Wound Healing Center at St. Luke’s Health – Brazosport Hospital was recognized on April 15 with the Center of Distinction Award from Healogics, a major provider of advanced wound care services in the United States. The center achieved high clinical outcomes over a twelve-month period, including a patient satisfaction rate above 92%.
This recognition highlights the importance of specialized wound care for patients with complex medical needs. Advanced treatments can improve healing and quality of life for those suffering from chronic wounds.
Clinical Program Director David Bokovac, RN, said, “This recognition reflects the consistency and commitment of our entire team. Wound care is rarely simple. Our patients come to us with complex needs, and it takes coordinated, evidence-based care to help them heal. I’m proud of the way our team shows up every day to deliver not just clinical excellence, but compassion and support throughout the healing journey.”
The Wound Healing Center at Brazosport operates as part of Healogics’ network that manages nearly 600 outpatient wound care centers across the country. The center offers specialized treatment options such as negative pressure wound therapy, total contact casting, bio-engineered tissues, biosynthetic dressings and growth factor therapies. It also provides hyperbaric oxygen therapy to accelerate healing in certain chronic wounds by increasing oxygen delivery to affected tissue.
Hospital President Bob Trautman said, “We are incredibly proud of our Wound Healing Center team for consistently delivering outstanding patient outcomes and satisfaction. This award from Healogics showcases their dedication and the life-changing impact they have on our community.” The center treats conditions like diabetic foot ulcers, pressure injuries and non-healing traumatic wounds using multidisciplinary approaches designed to improve patient recovery times.
