7,249 students enrolled in Dalton Public Schools District in 2022-23 school year

There were 7,249 students enrolled in Dalton Public Schools District in the 2022-23 school year, 1.5% less than the previous year, according to reports from the Georgia Department of Education.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 51% of them were male, and 49% were female.

Data also shows that most of the students were Hispanic, representing 72% of the Dalton Public Schools District's total enrollment.

Dalton Public Schools District roughly covers 10 schools within Whitfield County and has a main office in Dalton.

Among the 10 schools in Dalton Public Schools District, Dalton High School recorded the highest enrollment of 1,342 students in the 2022-23 school year.

Chronic absenteeism in Georgia has declined from its 2022 peak of 25%, but it still remains above pre-pandemic levels (11.8%). In 2024, about 20.7% of all students in the state missed 10% or more of their classes.
