Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene Criticizes Republican-led House for Abandoning Promises to American People

Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene has expressed her disappointment in the Republican-led House for failing to uphold their promises to the American people. In a statement regarding the recent actions in the House, Greene highlighted her concerns and objections.

"When Republicans took the majority in the House, we swore we would never pass a Continuing Resolution (CR) and we swore we would never pass minibusses. Yet here we are under Speaker Johnson, three CRs later, a minibus, and another minibus on the horizon next week," Greene stated.

She emphasized her commitment to the pledge made by the Republican-led House when they gained the majority, expressing her refusal to fund what she referred to as "Joe Biden’s Department of Injustice." Greene highlighted her concerns about the department being used to target various groups, including political opponents, protestors, pro-life activists, Catholics, school boards, and concerned parents.

Greene criticized the spending levels of the recent minibus, stating that it exceeded the agreements made under the previous leadership. She also raised objections to the bill fulfilling the wishes of President Joe Biden and Senator Chuck Schumer, emphasizing her unwillingness to support such measures.

Reflecting on the process, Greene remarked, "Republicans should've done what we said we were going to do. We should've passed an open rule and allowed Members to offer amendments. We should've let the Representatives of the American people decide the will of the House on each of our twelve appropriations bills and passed them individually."

In conclusion, Greene asserted that Republicans had no excuse for presenting the minibus instead of passing single-subject appropriations bills as promised. She underscored the importance of keeping the commitments made to the American people by the Republican-led House.
