August 11: Northside Hospital prostate cancer screening in Alpharetta
Northside is offering a community prostate cancer screening, at no cost, to measure men’s risk for developing the disease.
The screening will take place Thursday, August 11, from 5:30 to 8 p.m., at Northside Hospital Cancer Institute Radiation Oncology - Preston Ridge, 3330 Preston Ridge Road, Suite 100, Alpharetta, GA 30005.
Prostate specific antigen (PSA) blood tests will be available to men between 45 and 75, who have never had prostate cancer or a PSA blood test in the last 12 months. Interpreters will be available free of charge. COVID-19 safety measures will be practiced according to CDC guidelines.

August 13: Northside Hospital Cancer Institute patient education conference
Receiving a cancer diagnosis can be an overwhelming and shocking experience. There are so many things to coordinate, keep up with and plan for as a patient or caregiver. To help ease the burden of this process, Northside Hospital Cancer Institute is hosting a Patient Education Conference on Saturday, August 13, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:45 p.m., at The Hotel at Avalon in Alpharetta. The conference is free of charge, and lunch will be served.
The conference will feature three tracks that cover various topics: patient (all types of cancer), caregiver and advanced disease. In addition to the educational presentations, attendees will have access to a community resource area where several advocacy groups will have booths and information.
