Northside employees fund new mobile mammography van

Each year, Northside Hospital Foundation's Employee Giving Campaign encourages employees to donate money to help causes in our community. In 2021, employees proudly raised more than $1.2 million dollars.

A portion of the money raised funded a new Northside Hospital ScreenAtlanta Mobile Mammography van, which offers convenient 2D and 3D screening digital mammograms throughout Georgia communities on a year-round basis.

“ScreenAtlanta typically serves almost 3,800 women in the community annually," said Freda Hardage, director, Northside Foundation Services and Alpharetta Medical Campus. "Last year, over 30 breast cancers were detected because of this important service to our community."

"We are very grateful to our Northside Hospital employees for their continued annual support of this much-needed service in the community," Hardage added.

ScreenAtlanta is certified by the American College of Radiology and meets the standards set forth by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and Mammography Quality Standards Act. Mammograms provided on the mobile unit are of the same high quality as those provided at our outpatient imaging locations. Each mammogram is performed by a Northside Hospital registered radiologic technologist, with advanced training and certification in mammography, and is interpreted by a board-certified radiologist, who has received advanced training in breast imaging.

Download the ScreenAtlanta calendar, or call 770-667-4400 to schedule an appointment.
