Northwest Whitfield County High School recently issued the following announcement.

On Monday, February 14, 2022, the Kiwanis Club of Dalton recognized the 2022 STAR Students and Teachers from Christian Heritage, Dalton Public Schools and Whitfield County Schools.
To qualify for the Student Teacher Achievement Recognition (STAR), high school seniors must have the highest score on the SAT and be in the top 10 percent of their class. Once named, students then select a teacher to share in this recognition.
The STAR Students and Teachers from Whitfield County Schools are:
from Coahulla Creek High School, STAR Student Benjamin Griggs and STAR Teacher Richard DesLattes
from Northwest High School, STAR Student Cael Poston and STAR Teacher Jennifer Nix
from Southeast High School, STAR Student Karina Mendoza and STAR Teacher Lori Lyn Hicks
Benjamin Griggs from Coahulla Creek High School was named the overall System Winner and will represent the district in the region competition.
