UMC Wesleyan College Week

Wesleyan

The Wesleyan College Confucius Institute recently issued the following announcement.

As we approach Wesleyan College Sunday, we will post daily messages about faith and service at Wesleyan. You’ll hear from campus clergy: Dr. Vivia Fowler, President; Dr. Tyler Schwaller, Chaplain; Rev. Kaiya Jennings, Faith and Service Coordinator; and Rev. Tonya Parker, Chief Diversity Officer. You’ll also hear from student recipients of faith and service scholarships and student leaders of our many campus ministry groups.

Since 1836, Wesleyan has been committed to women’s education and helping every student find a unique voice and purpose, providing students an academically challenging and relevant liberal arts education. Our diverse, inclusive community encourages creativity, innovation, and leadership so all graduates are prepared to thrive in a complex world. Our campus ministry programs are led by Rev. Dr. Tyler Schwaller, Ackerman-Hurdle Chaplaincy Chair, and Rev. Kaiya Jennings, Faith and Service Coordinator. Students are involved in weekly prayer, bible study, denominational and interfaith groups, and service to the campus and community. Rev. Tonya Parker, Chief Diversity Officer, leads our diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.

Each year Wesleyan College awards dozens of scholarships, and qualified students may compete during the annual Scholarship Day for full tuition scholarships. Scholarships for students with a Methodist connection and students who bring gifts and commitment to faith and service are included in the awards.

Wesleyan is grateful to the South Georgia Conference for its support through the Georgia United Methodist Commission on Higher Education and through the many individuals and congregations that support the College. Throughout the year, your prayers, your encouragement for women to consider applying to Wesleyan, and your gifts are deeply appreciated. For more information, visit www.wesleyancollege.edu.
