St. Luke’s Health-The Woodlands Hospital has introduced AngelEye Health’s CameraSystem in its Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), offering families secure live-stream video access to monitor their newborns remotely. The system enables parents and family members to view their babies from anywhere using smartphones, tablets, or computers, and includes HIPAA-compliant messaging for text, photo, and video updates.
Judy Brown, Director of Women’s and Infant Services at the hospital, stated: “Our priority is to ensure that every family remains connected and supported throughout their NICU journey, especially when they can’t be physically present – which can add so much stress to our parents and families. By implementing AngelEye’s CameraSystem, we provide a secure and reliable way for parents to stay connected to their newborns. This technology offers families peace of mind and creates a partnership between our care teams and parents, fostering trust and positively impacting patient outcomes.”
The hospital reports that the new technology helps streamline clinical workflows by reducing calls to the unit while keeping parents engaged through real-time updates on photos and treatment plans. This approach allows parents to remain involved in their child’s care even when not physically present.
Christopher Rand, CEO of AngelEye Health, said: “We are proud to partner with St. Luke’s Health -The Woodlands Hospital to bring our CameraSystem to their NICU. This technology is designed to bridge the gap when parents cannot be at the bedside, offering real-time, secure access to their baby’s care. By integrating our CameraSystem, we aim to empower families, ensuring they feel connected, supported, and confident in their role as part of the care team.”
This initiative aligns with St. Luke’s Health-The Woodlands Hospital’s commitment to adopting innovative solutions for improved patient outcomes and supporting family-centered care.
