Sen. Colton Moore voices support for local farmers and criticizes corporate subsidies

Sen. Colton Moore, a Republican representing Georgia’s 53rd Senate District since 2023, has used his social media platform to address issues affecting agriculture and state policy in early September 2025.

On September 4, Moore expressed gratitude toward the former president for supporting local beef producers, stating: “I want to personally thank President Donald J. Trump for putting America’s beef producers first. Here in Northwest Georgia, family farms like mine are the heart of our communities. By cracking down on Brazil’s flood of cheap beef, which has dropped 80% in recent months.”

The day after, on September 5, Moore called for an end to certain business incentives in the state: “Stop corporate subsidies in Georgia. It’s pay to play politics, it’s corruption and it cost too much.”

Moore was elected to the Georgia State Senate in 2023 after succeeding Jeff Mullis as senator for the state’s 53rd district.
