Saint Joseph Jessamine names 2026 staff and leadership award recipients

Saint Joseph Jessamine recognized its Physician of the Year, Advanced Practice Provider of the Year, Employee of the Year, and Leader of the Year during a hospital celebration on March 11.

The annual awards highlight individuals who embody Saint Joseph Health’s core values such as compassion, inclusion, integrity, excellence, and collaboration. The event brings attention to staff members who have made significant contributions to patient care and teamwork within the organization.

This year’s Physician of the Year is Joseph Grossman, MD. His nominator said: “As a young tech, Dr. Grossman was understanding and patient with me when I had questions or needed extra guidance. He has demonstrated constant collaboration whenever I expressed interest in learning about a certain condition or diagnosis. Dr. Grossman’s drive for a successful department does not go unnoticed.”

Josh Sykes was named Advanced Practice Provider (APP) of the Year. According to his nominator: “Joshua Sykes consistently demonstrates compassion, respect, and professionalism in every interaction. He takes time to listen to patients, ensuring they feel heard and understood… His positive attitude, approachability and constant smile create a welcoming environment for both patients and staff.”

Stanley Puumala received Employee of the Year honors for his dedication to helping others both inside and outside work responsibilities. “Stanley continuously shows compassion for those in need… His ability to collaborate with others is obvious to everyone,” said his nominator.

Rosetta Tuggle was recognized as Leader of the Year for her long-standing commitment: “With a thirty-year commitment to our organization, Rosetta embodies the values of excellence, compassion and teamwork,” her nominator said.

Other Saint Joseph Health winners were also announced across different facilities within Kentucky.

The hospital has received recognition from leading organizations for its quality standards according to their website.
