Saint Joseph Health has announced the addition of Cameron Scheitzach, PA-C, to its team at Saint Joseph Medical Group – Maternal-Fetal Medicine in Lexington. Scheitzach earned her Master of Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Kentucky in June 2025.

Scheitzach stated that her clinical rotations with Dr. Magdalene Karon influenced her interest in maternal-fetal medicine. “I found such a passion for supporting and empowering women,” Scheitzach said. “I love supporting patients in one of the most meaningful times of their lives. Helping patients to navigate complex pregnancy is just a beautiful thing.”

Initially considering veterinary school, Scheitzach decided to pursue a career as a physician assistant after shadowing Katie Cranfill at Saint Joseph Health facilities and being inspired by the medical field.

A native of Orlando, Florida, she was part of the University of Kentucky’s 2021 Division I National Championship volleyball team and holds a BS in Education with a focus on kinesiology. Her education included rotations in both primary and specialty care across central and eastern Kentucky.

“I believe in putting the patient at the center of all decisions,” she said. “Being open and communicating with the patient. You have multiple health care professionals on the team, but the patient has to be on that team, the lead decision-maker … always supporting and empowering them to make the decisions they are most comfortable with.”

Outside work, Scheitzach is an active supporter of Kentucky Wildcats athletics and enjoys reading and spending time with friends.

She will see patients at Saint Joseph Medical Group – OB-GYN located at 170 N Eagle Creek Suite 110, Lexington.
