Saint Joseph Berea recognized its Physician of the Year, Employee of the Year, and Leader of the Year during a hospital event on March 10, according to an April 30 announcement.
The awards highlight the efforts of staff who demonstrate core values such as compassion, inclusion, integrity, excellence and collaboration. This year’s Physician of the Year is Joshua Huffman, MD; Kristina Rose was named Employee of the Year; and Raylee Kirkland received Leader of the Year honors.
Dr. Huffman was nominated by colleagues for his leadership and dedication. “Dr. Huffman’s leadership and dedication have directly and tangibly contributed to the pervasive success of Saint Joseph Berea, especially in achieving and maintaining our esteemed CMS 5-Star rating. His multifaceted contributions have translated into enhanced patient care, significant cost efficiencies and boosted morale across multiple departments,” his nominator wrote. “His mutual respect for all disciplines ensures that complex care plans are executed effectively and efficiently. This leverages the strengths of each team member for the holistic well-being of the patient.”
Kristina Rose’s nomination emphasized her teamwork in surgical services: “Kristina’s effective collaboration and communication directly contribute to a safe and secure OR. This is the absolute cornerstone of our mission. Her efficiency saves valuable time, reducing surgical turnover times and potentially allowing for more cases. Her vigilance and coordination directly prevent adverse events, ensuring optimal patient outcomes,” her nominator wrote.
Kirkland was recognized as a leader who shapes organizational culture: “Raylee is a culture changer within our organization. Her enthusiasm and professionalism are evident in every interaction and initiative she undertakes. Her commitment to our hospital’s mission is clear, and she consistently goes above and beyond to ensure a positive and supportive environment for both staff and patients.”
Other Saint Joseph Health facilities also announced their own annual honorees across Kentucky locations.
