State Representative Mike Cameron has expressed approval for Pilgrim’s planned investment in Walker County, Georgia. The company, known for its food products, will establish a new prepared foods facility in LaFayette. This project involves an investment of $400 million and is expected to create over 630 jobs within House District 1, represented by Rep. Cameron.

“Today’s announcement marks a significant win for Walker County and the entire Northwest Georgia community,” said Rep. Cameron. He highlighted Pilgrim’s role as a leader in food production and praised the company’s commitment to local economic growth. He also acknowledged Governor Brian Kemp’s leadership and the efforts of local leaders in making this expansion possible.

The new facility will be located at the Walker County Business Park in LaFayette and will focus on producing fully cooked chicken products. Construction is set to begin in fall 2025, with hiring anticipated to start in 2027 alongside the completion of the first construction phase.

Pilgrim’s currently supports approximately 7,500 jobs across Georgia and operates seven food production facilities statewide. Globally, it employs over 61,000 people and runs operations in various regions including North America and Europe.
