The CommonSpirit Memorial Foundation announced on Mar. 19 that registration is now open for the fourth annual River City Ribbon Run 5K, scheduled to take place on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at the Chattanooga State campus.
The event aims to raise funds that will remain in the local community and directly benefit patients of CommonSpirit – Memorial Hospital – Joe & Virginia Schmissrauter Center for Cancer Support, which is part of the Rees Skillern Cancer Institute. The center offers holistic care to cancer patients and their families at no charge, including education, symptom management, survivorship support, and connections to community resources such as transportation, financial assistance, counseling, or spiritual care.
Participants can choose from a timed 5K run, an untimed 5K walk, or a kids’ run—a one-mile timed event. The schedule includes registration and warm-up activities starting at 8 a.m., food trucks and a health expo from 8 to 11 a.m., the timed race beginning at 9 a.m., and untimed races starting at 9:15 a.m. Entry fees are $35 for adults and $20 for children and cheerleaders; all participants receive a t-shirt, swag bag, and finisher medal.
