Saint Joseph Health has announced that Kacie Heichelbech, PA, is joining the Saint Joseph Medical Group – Primary Care practice in Lexington. Heichelbech said she is committed to building strong relationships with her patients.
“I’ve always had the instinct to want to help people, and caring for others comes naturally to me,” Heichelbech said. “My goal is to give my patients the tools, knowledge, and support they need for them to feel empowered in taking charge of their health.”
Heichelbech chose primary care because it allows her to treat a wide variety of conditions and address patients’ overall well-being. She focuses on preventive care and patient education while tailoring care plans for each individual. She noted that primary care providers are well positioned to assist patients who may have challenges such as food insecurity or transportation barriers.
“I like to empower my patients. I want to give them the tools and knowledge that they need to feel like they are in control of their bodies and their health,” she said. “I serve as a resource for patients. At the end of the day, my role is to help them along in their health journey as we use shared decision making to make the best choices for them.”
Originally from Louisville, Heichelbech decided on a career in medicine after learning about physician assistants while in college. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Louisville in 2021 and later worked as a physical therapy technician, medical scribe, and clinical assistant before receiving her Master’s degree from the University of Kentucky in 2025.
Heichelbech has chosen to remain in Lexington because she values its community. In her free time, she spends time with family and friends, hikes, reads, and volunteers with local organizations.
She will see patients at Saint Joseph Medical Group – Primary Care at 211 Fountain Court, Suite 340, Lexington.
