CommonSpirit Health has announced the opening of its new hospital in North Georgia, named CommonSpirit – Memorial Hospital – North Georgia. The 180,000-square-foot facility is located at 4710 Battlefield Parkway in Ringgold and began operations on January 11, 2026. All inpatients from the former CHI Memorial Hospital Georgia campus have been moved to the new location.
The first surgery at the new hospital was performed on January 12, with gastrointestinal procedures scheduled soon after. The facility aims to provide advanced medical care to residents of North Georgia.
Angie Stiggins, administrator for CommonSpirit – Memorial Hospital – North Georgia, stated, “This is more than just a building; it’s a realization of a long-standing commitment to the health and well-being of North Georgia. Every aspect of this new hospital has been meticulously designed with our patients in mind, leveraging advanced technology and a patient-centered approach to deliver exceptional care. We are incredibly proud to bring this facility to life and are grateful for the ongoing support of our community as we embark on this new chapter.”
The hospital features 64 patient rooms, a 24-bed emergency department, an eight-bed intensive care unit, five operating rooms, and two endoscopy suites. It offers comprehensive imaging services and a full-service laboratory. Amenities include bistro dining options and a chapel for spiritual needs.
The design incorporates artificial intelligence, automation, and virtual care technology to improve clinical decision-making and patient safety.
Construction required significant resources: over 4,000 cubic yards of concrete were used throughout the site; approximately 750 cubic yards formed foundations and walkways; 100 tons of reinforcing steel were included for structural strength; more than 1,200 pieces of exterior glass cover about half an acre; all exterior glass weighs around 132,000 pounds; and completion demanded over 375,000 man-hours.
