CommonSpirit Health announced on March 23 that it has reached a three-year national agreement with Humana, allowing Humana members to maintain in-network access to CommonSpirit’s services, facilities, and providers across its 24-state network. The agreement also reestablishes the relationship between the two organizations in parts of Colorado and Texas.

This development is significant as it ensures continued access to care for Medicare Advantage patients at a time when such access can be uncertain. Both organizations said their negotiations focused on keeping patients at the center of care.

“From the beginning, our goal has always been to safeguard our patients’ ability to access the essential health services they rely on,” said Harpreet Cheema, Senior Vice President of Payer Strategy and Analytics at CommonSpirit Health. “At a time when ensuring predictable access to care has become increasingly complex across the healthcare landscape, this agreement reflects our commitment to our Medicare Advantage patients, ensuring they can continue to see their trusted doctors and receive vital care within their own community.”

Caraline Coats, Senior Vice President of Provider Strategy and Operations at Humana, said: “Humana is committed to ensuring our members have uninterrupted access to the care and providers they rely on most. We are pleased to reach this agreement with CommonSpirit Health so the individuals we serve can continue receiving high-quality, trusted care in their communities. This partnership reflects our shared focus on supporting better health outcomes and a dependable, patient-centered experience.”

Chi Memorial Hospital Georgia is among featured hospitals within CommonSpirit’s system; it includes hospitals, care sites and outpatient imaging centers according to its official website. The hospital has received recognition for quality and patient safety from leading organizations according to its official website.
