On Sunday, Feb. 16, former Southeast Whitfield County High School standout Cecil Lofton’s current college team, the Southern Illinois Salukis, lost 3-2 in their NCAA Division I baseball game against the UTRGV Vaqueros.
The game took place at UTRGV Baseball Stadium. This was their third matchup against the Vaqueros this season.
The Salukis’ next game is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 21 at 3 p.m. at Howell Bush Stadium at Averitt Express Baseball Complex against Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles.
