Antioch Elementary School counts 4 Asian students among 2024-25 enrollment

Four Asian students were enrolled at Antioch Elementary School for the 2024-25 school year, reports from the Georgia Department of Education show.

With a total enrollment of 421 students for 2024-25, Asian students accounted for 1% of the school population, making them one of the smallest demographic groups at the school.

The school is part of Whitfield County School District, which has its central office located in Dalton.

Across the 22 schools in Whitfield County School District, the highest Asian student enrollment for the 2024-25 school year was recorded at Northwest Whitfield County High School and Coahulla Creek High School, with 10 students each.

Based on data from the National Center for Education Statistics, Georgia's public school enrollment consists of approximately 36.4% Black, 35.9% white, 18.1% Hispanic, 4% Asian, 4.6% multiracial, 0.2% American Indian or Alaska Native, and 0.1% Pacific Islander students.

Chronic absenteeism continues to challenge Georgia schools in the wake of the pandemic, with 20.7% of students missing at least 10% of school days in 2024, according to the Georgia Department of Education.
